Thirteen years after Coalinga State Hospital was built to treat the state’s sexually violent predators, some of the men there say they’re more like prisoners than patients, and that the multimillion-dollar facility once criticized for its amenities is a sort of purgatory failing to rehabilitate offenders — and therefore failing the public. As these SVP schemes go unchecked, thousands are enrolled in the Sharper Future scam — where people are forced into no confidentiality “treatment,” the shaming in so-called “containment meetings,” routine polygraphs, ABEL, and bogus Static-99R labels.

It’s a profitable industry for many, I suppose.
